General Questions

Your monthly subscription covers enterprise-grade Azure hosting, security monitoring, uptime tracking, and technical maintenance. It ensures your site stays online, protected against digital threats, and running at peak performance.

Think of it as the difference between a cheap $5/month shared server that crashes under load — and a dedicated cloud infrastructure built to handle real traffic, real AI workloads, and real security requirements.

Yes. The monthly fee covers ongoing hosting and support after launch. There is a one-time development fee to design, build, and deploy your site — this is scoped and quoted before any work begins.

You'll always receive a written scope and fixed price before I write a single line of code. No surprises.

Shared hosting ($5–$15/month) puts your site on a server with hundreds of other websites. When one gets traffic-spiked or hacked, it affects everyone. Azure Web Apps give your project:

  • Dedicated compute resources — your site's performance is never affected by other tenants
  • Auto-scaling — handles traffic spikes without crashing
  • Built-in SSL, DDoS protection, and enterprise firewall
  • Global CDN for fast load times from anywhere
  • CI/CD pipeline — updates deploy automatically without downtime

Yes — 100%. When the project is delivered and paid in full, you own every line of code, all assets, and the full repository. There is no vendor lock-in. If you ever want to take your project elsewhere, it's yours to do so.

💡
// The Simple Way to Think About It

"Think of your monthly fee like an insurance policy and a tune-up. It keeps the engine running and the doors locked. If you want to paint the car a different color next month, we can definitely do that — but that's an extra project."

Included support covers everything needed to keep your site functioning as originally delivered:

  • Uptime Monitoring — Azure environment stays active and accessible
  • Security Patches — Critical updates applied to containers, CMS, and dependencies
  • Bug Fixes — Repairing errors in original code (excluding issues from client interference)
  • Minor Configuration — Updating DNS records, rotating API keys, adjusting existing settings
Tier Monthly Hours Includes

Support Scope

Support covers maintaining what was originally built and delivered. Specifically:

  • Fixing bugs in existing code or logic
  • Updating text or images on existing pages
  • Ensuring contact forms and integrations continue to function
  • Applying security and dependency updates
  • Monitoring Azure uptime and resolving infrastructure issues

Anything that changes or extends the original scope is a New Request and will be quoted separately. This includes:

  • Adding new pages or entirely new sections
  • Redesigning existing elements — colors, fonts, layouts, branding
  • Writing or generating new marketing copy or content
  • Integrating new third-party tools not in the original build
  • Building new AI features or expanding existing AI functionality
  • Creating graphic design assets for marketing materials

These are handled as separate project quotes — scoped, priced, and approved before work begins.

04

Hosting & Infrastructure

The monthly retainer covers management of your Azure or cloud infrastructure — including:

  • Azure Web App configuration and maintenance
  • Docker container management and updates
  • CI/CD pipeline monitoring (GitHub Actions)
  • SSL certificate renewal
  • Domain and DNS configuration
  • Environment variable and secrets management

AI features (like chatbots or document analyzers) consume API tokens and compute resources. If your usage exceeds the tier's allotted budget:

  • You will be notified before overage charges apply
  • Overage is billed at cost + 15%
  • You can set a hard usage cap to prevent unexpected charges

The same applies to database egress or storage overages on Azure.

No long-term contracts required. Monthly plans are month-to-month with 30 days written notice to cancel. If you choose to cancel, I'll provide a full handoff — code repository, documentation, and migration support — so you're never left stranded.

05

New Work & Billing

Simple — just reach out via the Quote Request form or email directly. Describe what you want built, and I'll respond within 48 hours with a scope summary and fixed price. No work begins until you approve in writing.

New projects outside of your monthly support scope are billed as either:

  • Fixed-price project — scoped upfront, 50% deposit to start, 50% on delivery
  • Hourly rate — for smaller, well-defined tasks (rate provided in scope)

You'll always know the price before any work begins. No surprise invoices.

Every project includes a revision round built into the scope. If the delivered work doesn't match what was agreed in writing, I'll fix it at no additional charge. My goal is a client who's proud to show their site to everyone they know.
